Overview

From multiple stakeholders: We need to monitor data trends
as soon as they are published.

By providing accurate, timely, and actionable data, Institutional Research and Planning (sometimes by Strategic planning and competitive intelligence) supports evidence-based decision-making across multiple domains, from strategic planning to operational efficiency.

As an office with multiple subscriptions to secondary data, we frequently receive requests from stakeholders eager to review the latest data as soon as it becomes available. To fulfill this commitment, automation is primarily used to support:

(1) Various routine interactive dashboards

(2) Ethics survey reports

Roles

As a Research Associate, I had the opportunity to work closely with the highest levels of leadership, including the Office of the President. In this role, I also collaborated with numerous departments and colleges, helping them develop strategic plans and providing actionable insights. Managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously was essential.

  • I maintained strong relationships with stakeholders, developing research plans tailored to their needs and ensuring their questions were answered with precision and insight.

  • I harnessed the power of R, SPSS, and Tableau to create and maintain automated, multi-year interactive visualization dashboards, which required only the simple task of loading new data when available. These dashboards were published on the official Ohio State University website, showcasing the impact and quality of my work.

  • I leveraged Excel VBA to automate report generation for over 30 stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
